  • Rust and Redemption with Retro Moto

You've probably seen the Honda CM400 custom that's been showing up in some of the new Speed and Strength marketing for the Rust and Redemption line. You can’t miss that hand built fairing and you might have caught a glimpse of it on Silodrome last year.

Both the fairing and bike were built by the talented Junior Burrell out of his Forth Worth, Texas shop - Retro Moto

Recently Speed and Strength caught up with Junior at his shop to hear the bike's Rust and Redemption story and how he got into building motorcycles.

For more on Junior and Retro Moto be sure to follow him on his Instagram and Tumblr accounts.

  • SS Takes a Ride on The Vulcan S

The promotional video for Kawasaki’s new middleweight cruiser - the 2015 Vulcan S - features a number of riders wearing Speed and Strength gear.

With an affordable price tag and 'Ergo Fit' adjustability that caters to a broad range of rider ergonomics, Kawasaki is clearly aiming at a younger demographic with the new Vulcan S..... but regardless of their target market, we'd have to say that the gear definitely matches the ride.

  • Riders Discount Triumph Making Gains

After a blistering hot weekend at Barber Motorsports Park under the new two-day format, Riders Discount Triumph edges closer to the top spot in the AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike Championship.  Thanks to some hard work by the crew and a little luck, Danny Eslick is now just 12 points behind Jake Gagne going into Laguna Seca where Eslick won last time he raced the GoPro Daytona SportBike class.

“I believe we had a solid bike but with the lack of testing it put us in a difficult position,” said Brian Gibson, Riders Discount Triumph team owner.  “With the short two-day format we were chasing our tails.  But all and all we came out of the weekend only 12 points out of the championship lead instead of 22 and we have to look at that as a success.  The next round is at Laguna Seca where we have some data from 2013 when we raced with both Joey Pascarella and Jake Zemke, so that should help us hit the ground running a little faster than when we arrived at Barber.”

“This was the first time we've done the two day schedule for a race weekend and I think this was definitely not my weekend and things weren't going properly,” said Riders Discount Triumph rider, Danny Eslick.  “We started the day yesterday behind the 8-ball and whenever you have limited track time and limited qualifying, it’s hard to make up time.  We were stuck in seventh, or eighth place in race one, but luckily we had a couple guys go off in front of us finishing fifth, and sixth overall in race two.  After coming into this race 22 points down in the championship and leaving only 12 back, it’s not a terrible weekend.  We’ll chalk it up as a completed weekend.  We didn’t tear anything up, and we’ll move to Laguna and go get us a win.”

The FIM Superbike World Championship, GEICO Motorcycle U.S. Round at Laguna Seca is July 11-13.
